Allison and Kori Wedding

Posted in A. Weddings in Kansas City with tags , on December 19, 2009 by John and Lisa

Allison and Kori spent the entire day of their wedding day at the President Hotel, downtown Kansas City.  While Lisa was with the girls getting ready, John was finding out how fun the Groom and Groomsmen were going to be – nothing but great fun!

The ceremony was held at The President Hotel as well as the reception.  Just a beautiful location – all levels of the hotel were stunning and made for a great background for wedding photography.  Between the ceremony and reception there was a cocktail hour held at the mezzanine level where guests enjoyed drinks and appetizers for about an hour…the the reception began and the newly weds were announced.

Great wedding photography always comes in the combination of a great wedding couple and wonderful surroundings.  This was one of those, we had a great time with Allison and Kori and wish them the very best.

“John, We just got back from our honeymoon last night and LOVE LOVE LOVE the pictures! There are so many great ones we don’t know how we’ll ever be able to narrow it down. We had messages from lots of people who were at the wedding who had been on to look at them before we were able to so we ending up getting 15 minutes of internet for $10 to take a quick glance in the hotel business center. They are wonderful so we’ll work on narrowing them down and get back to you. You guys were so great to work with and we truly had fun taking the pictures – I think that is evident in many of the pictures where we are goofing around and being natural!”

Briana and Taylor’s Wedding Photography in Kansas City

Posted in A. Weddings in Kansas City with tags , , , on November 28, 2009 by John and Lisa

Briana and Taylor got an unusual break in the weather for the end of November – just a great day.  We met them at Kaufman Gardens for their first meeting, all the family and bridal party were present.  Briana was stunning in her Wedding Dress, waiting for Taylor to see her for the first time.  When they met for the first time on their wedding day you could tell how excited they both were.  We spent a while taking photos in the gardens and then on to the church.  The ceremony was short, followed by Briana and Taylor walking to their limo as guests tossed rose petals their way.  Then, we were off to the reception at the Meadowbrook Country Club where the Dan Doran band and all their friends were waiting.

The evening went fantastically- great food, great music, and lots of  fun with the families and friends, not to mention,  a wonderful wedding couple.  Check out their wedding photography online at the Phoenix Photography website,  under “View Events”.

Kayla and Shane’s Wedding

Posted in A. Weddings in Kansas City with tags , , , on November 26, 2009 by John and Lisa

Kayla and Shane started the day off at Loose Mansion, perfect day, great couple, wonderful locations.  Plus such a beautiful Cake, designed and created by Caren’s Cakes – a vendor who is part of Tie The Knot, Kansas City Style.

The couple get ready for their wedding day at Loose Mansion and had their first meeting of the day together there in front of the main level fireplace.

Kayla and Shane then went to the church for the ceremony and some very fun photos in the church’s garden.  After the ceremony and bubbles, they went to Loose Mansion for the reception and rest of their evening.

Throughout the day they were so much fun to be around it made it easy to get some of the best photos we have gotten and we so enjoyed the day with them and their family.

After the photos were posted online, Barb – the owner of Loose Mansion had this to say about the wedding images:

“John and Lisa … I just went through Kayla and Shane’s photos! OUTSTANDING!!!! Seriously, very outstanding!!!! You’ve got some photos in here that I’ll want to use in advertising and on the website. I LOVE the ones in the lower level by the murals (I will use one of these as a header on our website in a couple months), and in the front entry. This was an especially photogenic bride … such a pretty smile and lots of personality! I’ve saved many favorites.”

Warmly,
Barb

Monica and Keith Wedding in Kansas City

Posted in A. Weddings in Kansas City with tags , , , on October 16, 2009 by John and Lisa

Monica and Keith started their wedding day at Union Station.  They did their first meeting on the second level of the open restaurant – in front of the Grand Room Clock.  The wedding party were all at Union Station too…and we had so much fun with the bride and groom AND the wedding party. Everyone was very relaxed and really enjoying the day.  The wedding party arreived at the Hampton Inn on the Plaza where Danny from Encore Elite Entertainment was waiting to get started.

Although the ceremony was short,  it was inspirational.  Rev. Elizabeth Coleman from the Prilgrim Chapel is one of our favorite ministers to work with.  The cocktail hour followed, then the bride and groom danced in to the reception.  The wedding reception party lasted a few hours and from the photos we posted, you can tell everyone was having a blast.  The staff at the Hampton Inn on the Plaza were great to work with and we would enjoy doing more weddings there, especially with the whole Plaza as the backdrop for our photography!

You can see more of Monica and Keith’s wedding photos on our website http://www.phoenixphotoduo.com under “View Events”

Thanks to Monica and Keith for asking us to photograph their wedding, they were great!   John & Lisa – Phoenix Photography

Amanda and Ben’s wedding at Blue Hills Country CLub

Posted in A. Weddings in Kansas City on September 5, 2009 by John and Lisa

Amanda and Ben’s entire wedding event was held at the Blue Hills Country Club in Kansas City which is a very good choice.  The weather was perfect as we started the day with the girls getting ready and the guys showing up for a great day, and Amanda and Ben having their first meet as bride and groom at the bottom of the winding staircase at the edge of the golf course.

All the family photos took place out on the golf course with a wonderful backdrop making each photo beautiful.  Once the family photos were done, then it was time to have fun with Amanda and Benand the wedding party.

The ceremony was held just outside the clubhouse of the Blue Hills Country Club next to the golf course decorated with the wonderful floral designs by Rosemary of Final Touch Studios.

The reception was perfect with wonderful food and music, dancing, and of course wedding cake by Michelle at Iced Art on Johnson Drive in Shawnee Kansas.

The Blue Hills Country Club, Michelle at Iced Art Cakes by Design, and Rosemary fro Fianl Touch Studios floral design are all  Top Wedding Vendors along with Phoenix Photography listed on Tie The Knot, Kansas City Style at http://www.tietheknotkc.com .

We thougroughly enjoyed the wedding couple and their family thru the entire event.  To see more of the photos from their event go to our website at http://www.phoenixphotoduo.com listed under “View Events”

Kathryn and Michael’s Wedding in Kansas City

Posted in A. Weddings in Kansas City on September 4, 2009 by John and Lisa

For Kathryn and Michael, the day started off with a little question as to whether the rain would stop in time as the wedding event was held at the beautiful gardens of Lee Andrew Hall & Gardens and the ceremony was planned for outside.  We started the photos inside and just before the moment the ceremony was supposed to start, the rain stopped and the clouds parted and a wonderful ceremony under their arbor began.  Shortly after the ceremony, we were able to capture awesome photos of the wedding couple as the sun was setting.

The reception with family and friends was small and personal, with everyone having a great time.  We also did some really fun stuff with Kathryn and Michael in the dark.  See the photos below.

Thanks for having us, John & Lisa, Phoenix Photography http://www.phoenixphotoduo.com
